Regional Account Manager

The Growth Company’s (GC) Education and Skills team is excited to offer a new opportunity for a Regional Account Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing both new and existing large accounts, particularly apprenticeship levy-paying clients. Your focus will be on strengthening current relationships while identifying and developing new opportunities for growth within these organisations. Additionally, you will play a key role in securing new business in alignment with our strategic business plan.

Please note that the successful candidate must be based in either the Northwest or Midlands area to effectively support the client base and attend team meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage strategic relationships with approximately 35 existing companies to support apprenticeship growth and influence their skills strategies.
  • Proactively build new client relationships and serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Expand The Growth Company’s presence in your region and nationally to drive new business development opportunities.
  • Identify and develop apprenticeship and growth opportunities within managed accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create customized support packages for clients.
  • Maintain detailed CRM records and develop account plans for complex clients.
  • Meet annual targets for starts, client interactions and company meetings.
  • Stay informed on national and local sector trends and share insights with colleagues to support strategic planning.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in B2B consultative sales or account management within a commercially driven environment, with a proven track record in market and network development.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build credibility and influence senior business leaders.
  • Solid understanding of the apprenticeship sector, ideally supported by an established professional network.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, with flexibility to work across multiple sites as required.
  • Proven experience in both managing existing accounts and initiating new client relationships from the ground up.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the full sales cycle—from research and lead generation to closing deals and providing aftercare.
  • Skilled negotiator with the ability to influence decision-makers at senior levels.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously, while maintaining high standards of service.
