Maths Tutor

The Growth Company's (GC) Education and Skills team is currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate Maths Tutor.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners by delivering high-quality Functional Skills and Maths sessions across a range of learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging Functional Skills Maths lessons that support learner progress and achievement.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to inform personalised learning plans.
  • Use a range of inclusive teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, behavioural challenges, and other barriers.
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and learner confidence.
  • Provide constructive feedback and track learner progress to ensure rapid and sustained improvement.
  • Identify learners at risk of underachievement and implement timely interventions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice, develop resources, and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Deliver teaching across a range of centres and learner profiles, as required.

Skills Required:

  • Recognised teaching qualification and subject-specific qualifications relevant to Functional Skills and/or GCSE delivery.
  • Proven experience of teaching in challenging environments.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver inclusive, engaging lessons that meet diverse learner needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident in using assessment data to inform planning and drive learner progress.
  • Committed to professional development and reflective practice.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly across multiple sites.
