Marketing Manchester is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised Event Executive. In this role, you will support the Senior Event Manager with the development, delivery, and evaluation of effective events that promote Manchester as a key destination for business, leisure tourism, investment, and growth, in line with the Marketing Manchester business plan.
Marketing Manchester promotes Greater Manchester nationally and internationally as a place to visit, invest, meet, and study. Our work is essential in raising the profile of the city-region as the gateway to the North and improving global perceptions and city rankings. Marketing Manchester also supports MIDAS, Greater Manchester’s inward investment agency, in delivering promotion focused on priority sectors and campaigns including digital, innovation, and green initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Event Manager with logistical and administrative tasks relating to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of events.
- Assist with on-site set-up, delivery, and breakdown of events and activities when required, including occasional weekends and evenings.
- Carry out ad-hoc duties at events such as registering delegates, managing guest lists, and directing attendees.
- Research and liaise with external suppliers to procure services for events, ensuring adherence to budgets and procurement policies.
- Process purchase orders and payments promptly using internal finance systems.
- Follow established workflow procedures to ensure events are delivered to a high standard.
- Represent Marketing Manchester professionally at events, promoting a positive image of the organisation to stakeholders, clients, and attendees.
- Collaborate with external partners and Marketing Manchester colleagues to support the successful delivery of the annual events calendar.
About You:
- A confident and enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in developing a career in events.
- Proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- A strong communicator, able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
- Highly organised and detail-focused, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A professional qualification in Marketing, Communications, Events Management, or Tourism.
- Experience of working in an office or customer-facing environment would be an advantage.

You will be based at the Head Office in Manchester with agile working options.
